Alan

Alan

Alan came to Where Pigs Fly after rescuers found him tethered alone in a paddock. He had been chained up for so many years that the chain had actually embedded into his neck. After negotiating with his negligent owners for surrender, rescuers sought a permanent home where he could live freely.

At the sanctuary, Alan received the veterinary care he needed to heal his neck wounds. Despite his years of isolation and neglect, he’s developed into a friendly, happy goat who enjoys company. He’s adapted well to life with the sanctuary’s goat herd, making up for lost time with social interactions that were denied to him for so long.

Now one of the captains of the goat team, Alan spends his days roaming freely, grazing in the paddocks, and exploring the sanctuary grounds. His transformation from a chained up, isolated goat to a confident herd member shows in his enthusiastic interactions with other residents.

Rescue date: July 2020
