Oink

Oink

Blind Oink was rescued from a local school’s Paddock to Plate programme where she and other young cows had been raised by the school and were now scheduled for slaughter.

Despite being totally blind, her perceived disability hasn’t stopped Oink from enjoying a full life and happy at Where Pigs Fly.

She’s learned to navigate her paddock confidently using her other senses, following sounds and familiar scents to find her way around. She can hear her feed bucket arriving with no problem at all.

Oink has formed strong friendships with members of the cow, sheep and goat team. She is such a gentle sweetheart. We all love her dearly. Oink shows how well animals can adapt when given the chance to live freely. She spends her days peacefully grazing and sleeping in the sun. Oink loves oranges more than anything else.

Rescue date: November 2014
