Reginald the Turkey- from dog shelter to sanctuary
Reginald was found wandering the streets alone and taken to an RSPCA shelter, a stressful and unsuitable place for a turkey. Thankfully, Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary could offer him a permanent home, where he quickly settled in with both feathered companions and human carers.
Now, Reginald has the freedom to express natural turkey behaviours, including scratching for seeds, dust bathing, and roosting at night. He spends his mornings foraging with other birds and exploring different areas of the 100-acre sanctuary. During the day, he can often be seen resting in shady spots or following staff and volunteers, curious about their work.
At night, he roosts safely in the sanctuary’s secure bird enclosure, protected from predators. Once lost and unwanted and at the pound Reginald is now a thriving sanctuary resident.
Rescue Date: December 2022
