Many volunteer roles at Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary are hands-on and take place outdoors. Typical tasks may include helping with animal care, maintaining paddocks and facilities, cleaning stables and supporting daily sanctuary routines.
Regular volunteers commit to volunteering weekly or fortnightly and support the day-to-day running of the sanctuary.
Tasks may include paddock cleaning, refreshing water, mucking out stables, animal care and seasonal projects.
To become a regular volunteer, we ask that you first attend one of our monthly Working Bees. This gives you the opportunity to meet us, see the property and experience what volunteering involves.
We offer different ways to get involved depending on the time you have and how you’d like to help.

If a regular commitment isn’t possible, our monthly Working Bees offer a flexible way to help. They’re held on a weekend once a month. You’re welcome to attend our working bees as often as you’re able.
Working Bees usually run for four hours and include a mix of tasks — from small projects to paddock cleaning and animal care. We finish with a picnic lunch (BYO) and time to connect with fellow volunteers.
Volunteering doesn’t have to be outdoors or hands-on. We also welcome support in areas such as:
Administration and organisational support
Event and fundraising assistance
Photography, video and content creation
Communications and community engagement
If you have skills or ideas you think could help, we’d love to hear from you.
