Meet Lily the Donkey

Lily arrived at Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary in July 2019 with her donkey friends, suffering from neglect and malnourishment. Thanks to dedicated care, she has transformed into a healthy, happy rescue donkey, roaming the sanctuary’s 100-acre property.

Like all rescued donkeys, Lily requires proper feed, shelter, and grooming. She adores grooming sessions with volunteers, standing patiently as she’s brushed and hugged. Her friendly and curious nature makes her popular with visitors, and she’s often seen greeting newcomers with a gentle nuzzle.

Lily spends her days exploring the paddocks alongside her donkey companions, enjoying the safety and love she once lacked. Her journey from neglect to a joyful life is a testament to the power of animal rescue and sanctuary care.
