A family of goats has arrived.
Two females. One is heavily pregnant. The other arrived with two babies at her side. The babies are just a month old. Their dad came too and he will be desexed as soon as he is strong enough.
Their mum is very underweight. Whatever she has been through, she has kept feeding and caring for her two babies the whole way. That tells you everything about her.
These goats were neglected and frightened by the people who were supposed to look after them. Animal Champion, Amanda, saw what was happening and got them out to safety. We are so grateful she did.
They are with us now. Food, shelter, vet care and time to settle in without pressure.
Animals who have been through trauma often arrive shut down. They flinch, they keep their distance, they watch everything.
Then, something shifts.
They work out that nothing bad is coming and you start to see who they actually are. Curiosity comes back. Personalities appear. They form friendships, with each other and in time with us. After twelve years of doing this, watching their transformation is incredible to witness. That is what is ahead for this little family. We will introduce each of them properly, names and all, once they have found their feet. Keep an eye out for updates.
